Job Description::

A well-established and growing Montessori school in Athens, Georgia is seeking a dedicated educator to serve as the Assistant Head of School starting in the 2024-2025 school year. The Assistant Head of School will be responsible for supporting staff, ensuring the implementation of all state and internal regulations, scheduling, inventory and ordering, assisting with budgeting and financial reports, maintaining positive relationships with parents and community members, and upholding the mission and prestige of the school.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Operational Performance - supporting our faculty and teaching staff through accurate and detailed weekly scheduling, inventory and ordering, and providing guidance to fellow educators.
Parent & Student Satisfaction - assist the Head of School in ensuring a valuable, authentic Montessori curriculum to all students and support the families of all students with consistent and positive communication
- Compliance & Internal Processes - have a detailed knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements (i.e. Bright from the Start)
- Financial Performance - have a detailed understanding of a large-scale budget, how to stay within a monthly budget, the needs of the school in terms of supplies and classroom materials, and ordering to ensure all required supplies are in stock

Responsibilities:

- Understand, support, and actively promote the mission of Waseca Montessori School
- Collaborate with and act as a resource to staff in the development of classroom curriculum, policies, and programs, as deemed appropriate by the Head of School
- Collaborate with and support the Head of School with administrative duties, including clerical responsibilities
- Act as Director on Site in the absence of the Head of School
- Display a contagious enthusiasm towards child development, the Montessori philosophies and curriculum, and the mission of the school
- Act as a liaison, when deemed appropriate by the Head of School, between parents and staff
- Develop a sense of community and accountability among staff

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education and/or non-profit administration
- Montessori credential (Infant/Toddler, Early Childhood, or Elementary)
- Previous experience working with large-scale budgets, school operations, and classroom teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in education or a related field
- Two or more years of experience in school administration and/or non-profit administration
- Certification in and/or experience with accounting, finance, and budgeting
